Fayziyev Latif Obidovich (Tashkent — ) — film director. People's Artist of Uzbekistan (1979). Honored Art Worker of Uzbekistan (1964). He graduated from the Institute of Cinematography in Moscow (1950). From 1941 to 1945, he was an actor at the Theater for Young Spectators.

Since 1950, he worked as a director at "Uzbekfilm". From 1986 to 1989, he was the chief director at the Hamza Theater. He created about 20 documentary and chronicle films ("Amu Darya", a 3-part series, "Fountains of Tashkent", "Decameron 76", "Legend of the Plane Tree", "Eyelashes Made for Windows", and others). "The Servant and the Master" was Fayziyev's first feature film. His films such as "Collapse of the Emirate" (the first Uzbek color film), "Sacred Blood", "Natasha-khanum" (the first Uzbek widescreen color film), "Second Blooming", "The Wagtail", "Ulugbek's Star", "Sons of the Motherland"; "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves", "Legend of Love", "The Hunter" (all three in collaboration with Indians), "Golden Fleece" (adventure film), "Awakening", and "The Door of Destiny" have made a worthy contribution to the development of Uzbek cinema.

Fayziyev Latif Obidovich was one of the founders of the film-ballet genre in Uzbek cinema: he created films such as "Temur Malik", "Lovers of the Blue Palace", "Animated Miniatures", "Legend of the Old Fortress", and others, as well as "Three Palm Trees" and "Dawn over the Ganges" (in collaboration with Indians) at "Tajikfilm". He was a laureate of the Hamza State Prize of Uzbekistan (1981). He was awarded the "Shukhrat" medal (1994).
